Organiza: Cátedra Interuniversitaria de Derecho y Genoma Humano
Esta nueva edición del Congreso anual sobre Derecho y Genoma Humano se propone la reflexión y el debate sobre la evolución de la Biotecnología y la genética humanas y sus implicaciones éticas y jurídicas.
El Congreso se estructurará en dos sesiones en las que participará un panel de expertos internacionales y se abrirá un turno de debate con el público en torno a dos temas principales:
- Ensayos clínicos: nuevos enfoques normativos
- Análisis genéticos en la contratación de seguros
Además, está prevista la presentación de comunicaciones orales en varias sesiones paralelas.
En la inauguración del acto contaremos con la presencia del Director de la Cátedra Interuniversitaria de Derecho y Genoma Humano, el Prof. Dr. Carlos Mª Romeo Casabona, la Vicerrectora de Proyección y Transferencia de la Universidad del País Vasco, la Prof. Dra. Amaia Maseda y la Prof. Dra. Gema Tomás. Decana de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Deusto.
La primera sesión del Congreso estará dedicada a la
Ingeniería genética en seres humanos y correrá a cargo del Dr. Raúl Mallaina, Co-secretario del Comité de Asuntos Sociales, Salud y Desarrollo Sostenible de la Asamblea Parlamentaria del Consejo de Europa.

XXIII INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS IN LAW AND THE HUMAN GENOME
The aim of this year's Congress is to debate on the evolution of genetics and the Human Biotechnology and its ethical and legal implications.
The Congress will be structured around two sessions consisting of a panel discussion followed by open debate with the public. Topics to be addressed are:
- Clinical trials, new regulatory approaches
- Genetic analysis in insurance contracts
In addition, a number of oral presentations will be held in several parallel sessions.
The opening ceremony of this event will be attended by the Director of the Interuniversity Chair in Law and the Human Genome, Prof. Carlos Mª Romeo Casabona, Prof. Dr. Amaia Maseda, Vice?Rector of Outreach and Transfer at the University of the Basque Country, and Prof. Dr. Gema Tomás, Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Deusto.
The opening session of this Congress on Genetic engineering in humans will be delivered by Dr. Raúl Mallaina, Co?secretary of the Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development Committee at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
